__ In October 2011, I was able to take my daughter to Morgan’s Wonderland in San Antonio. My daughter was born with congenital muscular dystrophy and we were in San Antonio for her to receive treatment for her severe scoliosis. We knew she was going to have back surgery the first week of November so I was grateful we could make the time for Morgan’s a few days before that. By chance, the day we were at Morgan’s Wonderland, a magic show was put on for anyone who wanted to see it. Kimberly has always been a fan of magic and this was no exception. She loved it, especially when she was able to “help” with a few tricks. After the show, we were able to talk with the magicians and explain that we would be in the hospital the next week. Both magicians were very kind to Kimberly and expressed interest of seeing her while in the hospital. This news gave a little sparkle to Kimberly’s eye! During the scary times of testing, waiting, needle sticks and more, we were always able to keep things positive for Kimberly by reminding her that she would get her own magic show while in the hospital. I was told that Dwayne had a magic trick he wanted to show and then give to Kimberly, but didn’t share this with her. I was doubtful that Kimberly could actually “do” a trick because of her severe physical limitations and I didn’t want to get her hopes up. I should never have doubted Dwayne. He had the perfect trick and when Kimberly found out it was for her to keep she couldn’t be happier. While away from so much of her family we used SKYPE to stay in touch and everyone got to see the new magician at work; along with all the nurses and hospital staff! This trip was very scary and difficult for Kimberly and God knew who to put in our path to make His presence known. I believe He used Dwayne and Paul to give Kimberly peace and joy through magic!
